Does anybody else find that they start the year making plans only to have them derailed? My intention for the first part of this year was to get my website support services up and running. Well … I got as far as launching my website. But I then had to put my plans on hold to focus on something else. It happens doesn’t it?
In my case the “something else” is a very positive thing. When we first went into lockdown last year the change of pace did me the world of good. I suddenly felt like I had time and headspace to focus on some of the projects that had been hanging around for too long. Now, I know that this hasn’t been everybody’s experience over the last year.
One of the things that I came to realise is that I really like being in St Just (the small town where I live) during the day. I feel more connected to the community and love being able to go for a walk and pass the time of day with people I meet. So, I began to think how lovely it would be to have our office in St Just itself – being able to walk to work and actually being in the town during the day. I built up a vision of my lifestyle which was very appealing.
So, I mentioned to a friend that I was thinking of looking for new office space and through the marvels of the St Just community, the perfect space landed at my feet.
So, that’s what I’ve been up to for the last couple of months! I’ve been arranging moving into our new offices. As I type, we’re right in the middle of the move. We’ve shifted everything from our old office to the new and now need to put our desks back together and organise the space. We’re having the phone line and broadband installed on Wednesday, so fingers crossed we’ll be up and running soon.
After the strangest year ever this feels like such a positive thing.
